Very true Frank, but there's a completely different attitude around this group of players compared to last season.First off, let me say I'm as delighted as any of you good folk at this juncture on our road back to the summit. Ange has without doubt, so far, done an unbelievable job. But my usual cautious inner self is telling me not to get too carried away.....yet.
First trophy on the sideboard: still in touching distance at the top. It's probably more than most of us expected at this stage. However, with progress comes expectation. We are approaching a very critical time as far as this season is concerned. Crunch time, if you like !
Six points adrift isn't insurmountable, but only if we win all our games before meeting the tribute act....and then beat them. We have, thankfully for a change, been very active in the transfer market. Hopefully the fact that our signings are obviously not " works in progress" will help us take the next step; everything depends on those signings delivering the level we are looking for.
One thing which definitely has been laid to rest is the question of who makes the call when it comes to signing players. Ange has very obviously got full control of those decisions. Thank goodness for that too.
Ange has been compared to Big Jock by many, and I've already said I understand why, but I tend to agree with Hoopy; it's way too early for those kind of comparisons. We're allowed to live in hope though. I think most of you know that I was less than optimistic regarding this season, but I actually do believe we are in a title race. We simply must reverse the trend of losing to what"s their name ?
You're posts always give me lift John, we're probably two different characters in some ways. I think it would be true to say we hope for the same result though. I've seen my share of false dawns, so maybe this has taught me not to get too far ahead of myself. Hope over fear always !Very true Frank, but there's a completely different attitude around this group of players compared to last season.
Also a far higher disire to succeed with the club than of using it for personal gain, which we have had to endure for to long.
Every player seems to have bought into Ange vision for the club in building something very special for the club.
Brilliant ingredients to bring about much success, and although it has already landed 1 trophy, I strongly believe that this is only the start of what can and hopefully be achieved still.
I understand the causious approach but after the shit we had to put up with last season, then nothing wrong with showing our optomism for the future ahead.
Enough talking has been done and the plan goes into action now, and still remain very excited about how it all will unfold in the end this season, and totally relaxed about the coming seasons ahead, maybe I might have bought into the visions of Ange to much so, but the enjoyment he has bought to date, I will savour all the time it lasts and long may it continue still
Don't ever joke about that. We dodged the bullet. i don't want to go backwards nowPersonally I'm still unsure and think Ange is just keeping the Manager's seat warm until Eddie Howe finally joins us this coming summer...
Very good WC and any chance you could ask him if he has any plans to change formation as this particular impatient Bastard is struggling to wait till Monday to find out stillI'll be talking to Ange and a player tomorrow at the Celtic media conference ahead of the game against Hibs.
Same here John. How will they line up?Very good WC and any chance you could ask him if he has any plans to change formation as this particular impatient Bastard is struggling to wait till Monday to find out still
OUTSTANDINGHere we Go .....
I think we have all seen that Ange keeps everybody guessing with returns from injury. He has been particularly quiet about Jota.Reading between the lines I think the bounce game yesterday indicates both are are still out and whilst Kyogo (if he is fit enough to travel)will be in Japan for the imposters game I don't think Jota is gonna be ready until after that game as the only comment made by Ange on Jota was his injury was significant.Id really like to know when Kyogo, jota etc are back
