Late -non- call offs.

Yesterdays late call off for the huns got me thinking about similar situations.

I've never had an issue with a late call off, but I remember a few years ago a game that was given a late go ahead.

I flew over to Hamburg for a cup game between St Pauli and Bremen. My flight had to circle the airport for about 20 min before we could land. When I saw the snow I thought this isn't going to happen.

We went out for a drink and then made our way to the Fanladden to listen on the radio for any anouncements of the game being on or off.

About 5pm the ref gave the go ahead. Bremen were furious as they were so sure it would be called off, they hadn't even travelled.

They then had to get on a bus to Hamburg. One of their directors told the German FA that if Klose got injured it was down to them.

Klose got injured and St Pauli won 3-1.

Any other stories about matches going ahead or being called off late?
