Date set for billy McNeill statue unveiling

Our very own Celtic star has put out an article confirming the unveiling day…..Sunday 7th August and a time to be confirmed
I know this is of interest to a lot of people on here, as quite a few sent in donations to help with the fundraising efforts

Was supposed to be May last year, but due to covid issues with the artist/sucpture and limits on the crowds that could attend, (they expect a big turn out) it was put back, are you planning to attend? I’ll buy you a pint……..of water

Perhaps aw the noisers that are going could meet up for a drink, would be nice to put a face to the names, saints N sinners is a Celtic shop literally 10 steps from the statue or the new Celtic shop Caesar’s named after the great man is 10 mins walk, I’d imagine both would be doing stuff on the day

That is the location on google maps, there plenty of free parking in the Tesco car park 100 yards away also the train station is only 200 yards away,
It is expected a large crowd will be in attendance, there is a event organised by the statue committee at the nearby bellmill hotel for the NcNeill family, there are a few Celtic minded pubs in the vicinity, for a celebration pint afterward, saint’s and sinners, 10ft from the statue , franklins bar round the corner, 20yards or the newish Celtic pub “cesar’s” named after Billy, about a 10 min walk
