Transfer Rumours

I'm sure we don't have to list the names of let's say non Celtic minded managers players or staff throughout the years who fell in love with everything Celtic and became legends. Young Greg Taylor who is pretty much just starting out in his Celtic career comes from a bluenose family. He is friendly with my nephew and recently had a conversation with him to say Celtic have been amazing to him and particularly his family and he is totally committed to giving his all to the club and the supporters. Knows he has to work hard to win the support over but says no matter how his career pans out now one thing is for sure there is only one club he will support going forward and that is Celtic. That's the boys own words..just a wee example 🍀👍
My pals niece has been best friends with Taylor and his mrs for years and that’s exactly what he’s heard from her.
The wee mans dad is a rangers man so like us all when your young you grow up supporting your dads team.
I think like Ralston he has revelled in the inverted fullback role. It looks like he’s anges first pick at LB and his commitment is unquestionable. He’s more talented than he’s given credit for.
He’s shown a bit of character too cos he was the whipping boy last year.
the wee mans living most of our dreams playing for Celtic.
We should get behind the bhoy

No we dont need to list the non Celtic men so to speak but one guy deserves a mention imo and that's WGS 100% hated by the support but hes now a fully paid up member of the Celtic family and I love how if hes commentating on the game he refers to Celtic as " us" mind this is a guy who was attacked on the field of play by our own. Really that was because of how good he was as a player I'll never forget his goal that put Scotland into the lead v west Germany in ( cany mind which world cup) he ran to the hoardings and just put his leg on it he was too wee to jump over it , what a player and a great Celtic manager who took us deep into the cl on a much reduced budget from MON HH

I’ve warmed to the wee man over the years. Wasn’t a fan of his pressers while manager but over time realise his apathy was for the journos and not the supporters.
As you say what he did at Celtic in his time as manager was superb considering the budget.

We had one of the best home records in the champions league group stages under him had he been backed like MON who knows what he mightve delivered

Looking like McCree is signing for middlesborough.
That's fine by me and it seems that the lad McCree has his heart set upon the riches on offer within the EPL more so than trying to prove himself as a worthy top player imo.
Already had enough of the likes over the last number of seasons and relieved that we aren't to pursue the likes of such mercenaries again as we have already seen just how much this type of player can have upon a changing room.
Much prefer a player with the right attitude for the club than some unproven wannabe staring at the bright lights regardless of what potential talent they possess.
Not buying into the money factor as such, more so that this lad thinks he can use boro to fast track his career, still a dangerous attitude to have and the likes of which we are better off without imo

I'm a bit disappointed if I'm honest. That's if he goes to Middlesbrough. But you're right John, if he had any doubts about joining Celtic for whatever reason then let him go. We move on and it's his loss.
But some if the tubes reporting the story aren't exactly accurate. One eejit saying Celtic will now have to look elsewhere for a defensive midfielder. We'll just have to wait and see!

Fine with me as well only those who want to play for us , I can understand why a player might decide on the riches at hand in England but I'll never understand those with the money who'd rather just keep it that way and have little intention of leaving their mark on the history of the game, possibly the EPL vs possibly the champions league group stages is a no brainer if hes unsure I dont want him

If he even has to stop and think about Celtic or Middlesboro, then he is not for me. More money, maybe. Ambition, no.
We have had enough of the money merchants and quick stepping stone want aways in recent times. Don't need another just now. I'm not against players wanting to maximise their earnings. Best of luck to them. But I want commitment, hunger, a will to win and footballing ambition from our new signings. This means Celtic first.

I am also Deadner as he looked a potential talent and more so that Ange knew of the potential and for what role he would have liked him to play for the club.
With that on offer and the lad has turned his back upon it, then the focus turns to the player himself and if he really thinks boro is a better move, then I would question his character and quite confident that we are far better off without the likes again imo

So, it looks like McGree fancies the pound notes rather than a decent wage and success.
We dont need mercenaries like that at Celtic, having said that, is Ange a victim of his own keen eye for a good player?
Are other clubs tuning in to his player interests and gazumping us?

Very valid point b4l, and one we may well have to start getting used to also imo.
When you take into account the extra value gained already on so many bought into the club, then quite rightly points to what an eye Ange has for a bargain of a player and the quality they offer to a team.
Sure many teams have taken notice now, so we may well need to be careful about agents using our club to increase the value of there potential player still.
Nothing new about agents using that tactic to increase the profile of a player, yet think Ange is still way to smart for that and only really wants a player with a disire and commitment to the club still and any question marks arise during any discussions then we are prepared to walk away still.
Boro where clearly in the running for him, yet it wouldn't surprise me that it was actually us that called time on the deal still.
If that's how Ange and Nicholson are going to operate then fair play to them, as we never want to see the likes of players thinking they are bigger than the club ever again imo.

100% POD 👏👏

Sorry but if I had w job offers, 1 for £5k a week and the other for £14k a week I know exactly what I would be doing. There is no decision to make
You would need to be nuts to choose Middlesbrough over Celtic ...id maybe see why if it was a top EPL side but Middlesbrough? No chance man!Prove yourself at Celtic and he'll get a better contract further down the line ..and the possibility of CL football.
