Transfer Rumours

With the January window opening in 4 weeks the transfer rumours are starting to ramp up.
Today we have been linked with midfielders Hannes Wolf (Borussia Monchengladbach) & Yosuke Ideguchi (Gamba Osaka). The links come from sources in Germany & Japan respectively.
In addition it seems that we are looking to buy out the last month of Reo Hatate's contract to get him in at the beginning of the month and also trying to secure Daizen Maeda.
Would still only expect us to sign 2, maybe 3 maximum, but we will doubtless be linked with many many more.

The google translate of Japanese report....
It turned out that Scotland 1st division Celtic is moving to catch Gamba Osaka midfielder Yosuke Ideguchi (25). Already a formal offer, according to people familiar with the matter. He has left a work visa examination and a medical check, but Celtic is highly praised for preparing a penalty of over 1 million euros (about 130 million yen).
Celtic will be appointed by Postecoglou, who was in charge of Yokohama this summer. Japan national team FW Kyogo Furuhashi, who was acquired from Kobe, made a big break, suggesting that more Japanese will join this winter. One of them is a dynamo with abundant momentum, hard defense, and punchy shots. Postecoglou is well aware of his high potential, as he was hit by a strong middle shot in the final qualifying round for the Russian World Cup Asia on August 31, 2017, when he was the coach of the Australian national team
In Leeds (then England 1st Division), which was the first European challenge, he did not get a work visa and repeated a loan transfer to Leonesa (Spain 2nd Division) and Fürth (Germany 2nd Division). He returned to Gamba Osaka in the summer of 19 because he couldn't show his true strength. However, Ideguchi himself says he hopes to re-challenge Europe, and attention will be focused on the future of negotiations.
◇ Yosuke Ideguchi Born August 23, 1996 (Heisei 8), 25 years old from Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Gamba Osaka Junior Youth-After working at Gamba Osaka Youth, he was promoted to a higher grade in the 14th year of his third year of high school. On April 16th of the same year, he made his official debut at the Nabisco Cup / Sagan Tosu match. J1's first goal in the match against Nagoya on September 17, 2016. A national team's first goal in the Asian final qualifying match against Australia on August 31, 2017. International A match 15 games 2 goals. 1 meter 71, 71 km. right handed.

We will get two probably, and we will off load a few, both lads from SheffWed are going out on loan. Barkas needs to go, maybe Ajeti too.
We need more in. Another couple of injuries and we're really struggling.
I think Ange is sometimes asking too much of his regulars. Lads like Soro and Henderson arn't getting a look in, ffs use the squad.

I know January is a horrible month to get bodies in for good prices but I'm looking forward to seeing who the gaffers got lined up the way he wants to play it takes really mobile fit players he knows the j league so we'll I'm hoping not only the hatate deal is real but the maeda one aswell we need another striker and maeda is apparently only 3m I would also like another cb

This is one area within the club that infuriates myself and another area within the club that can be a huge sideshow and can bring huge distraction upon our goals for the rest of the season and for the following one also.
We already operate with far to many players on the payroll, with little to no future, plenty with none whatsoever, and yet remain fairly short in the quality we are looking for to complete the squad on a few positions yet due to a lack of decent cover.
A total in balance that has been in place for a few seasons now and a very easy way to cause unrest within the playing department still, and places unnecessary extra pressure upon our manager and keeping harmony within the squad as a whole still.
This area goes unnoticed as such yet as a club we have tended to turn our back upon player development and are more interested in getting a gem to be offloaded for huge profit further down the road.
Now I believe is time to actually address the issues and if we aren't going to run a 2nd team within Scotland then offload the whole lot of them who remain miles away from ever being part of the 1st team squad.
Even with the high levels of injuries suffered this season and still to high for our liking we still have enough options until the end of the season in the defensive set up imo.
As a squad we have been able to operate OK ish in the forward department but yet remains unclear about the use of a target man as a CF as Ajeti and GG have hardly made much of an impact, so hopefully another Asian wonder will be of great value to us to give us far more options in the striking department as we still remain not clinical enough atm.
Midfield would be where we remain fairly short of options in how Ange likes to play and set up the team and another injury to calmac would be devastating to us as a team, so finding and having another calmac type of player would be the highest of priorities imo.
Until then, we have a highly challenging month ahead before the window opens and will go a long way in deciding upon which way the club is actually going to take in moving forward or sitting idle.
Need to keep winning so reinforcements can be bought in and deadwood offloaded would be my preferred choice, but with a board who operate on a different wavelength to us supporters, I still wouldn't like to call there direction they want our club to be taken, so will avoid the sideshow for the next month and hope that the right decisions will be made when we have already one trophy in the bag and in a great position to take the other 2 still in Scotland

Said on the last transfer window deadline day thread that we really needed to bring in another LB, a combative DCM and another Striker in addition to those already brought in....I still think that's the case and we've seen that need borne out at different times so far this season.

Other than Greg Taylor AP doesn't seem to trust any of the others who play LB/can play LB that much, the fact he's consistently played Juranovic out of position {when available} ahead of Montgomery, Scales and Bolingoli shows we desperately need a trusted LB to be brought in.

One thing that has really stood out for me is we're nowhere near solid enough in midfield, aye this team can play some beautiful football at times but it lacks the necessary mettle in the middle of the park that {imo} all title winning teams need. We desperately miss that battle hardened Broony type player, someone who's capable of providing that protection to the back 4, bossing the middle of the park, getting stuck into battles, harries, presses and breaks up the opposition's play, digs that ball out and gets it forward so our attackers can go do their thing. Neither McCarthy {so far} or Soro has been able to step up and provide that and Bitton is just no that type of player so I think that a combative DCM is a must if we are serious about getting our title back.

And even though we had signed Kyogo and Gio in the last window I still thought another Striker was needed and I reckon that's still the case. This was no more evident than when Kyogo was out injured, Gio wasn't ready to step in to fill the void which left us relying on Ajeti who I reckon, alongside Barkas, is one of THE worst and most baffling signings we've made in last 10 years. At some point Kyogo is gonnae need a rest or we're gonnae lose him to injury again and with the jury still out on Gio and Ajeti being...well Ajeti...then we definitley need another Striker coming in in January.

At the very least we need that DCM and Striker and if these were the only 2 to come in in January then I'd settle for that.

This could turn out to be a nice wee treble and coming from the J League,
they could hit the ground running..

Superb if true and I think it is....the boy hatate can play lb very well apparently aswell as dm never heard of other boy but a dm/lb a proper cm and a forward in January wid be superb in big ange we trust HH

Need another attacking midfielder. We need to be able to drop turnbull & Rogic when they are not preforming. Although the way Rogic has been playing this season, I don't think he's the one we should be worrying about

I get using the squad but it's sometimes hard to do when players are getting on the same wavelength and keeping up momentum. Changing for the sake of it aint necessarily good. Did big Jock use rotation?
